Description
A cool season grass that is highly digestible and
forms a dense sod. One of the earliest grasses to green up and grow in the
spring. Prefers cooler temperatures and production slows down in the hot
summer months particularly when temperatures exceed 87 degrees F. Can be mixed
with other forage grasses such orchardgrass, bluegrass, tall fescue, and
timothy. Also, can be mixed with white clover to provide an excellent
grazing mix. Can also be cut for silage. Can be cut for hay but harder
to cure than other forage grasses. Gives excellent animal
performance. Can also be used for lawns. Dependable year after year
production.
Seeding Rate – 30 to 40 lbs/acre for new
stands.
