Our staff hail from production agriculture backgrounds and are eager to help Augusta Co-op customers optimize profits of their livestock or agronomy operations.

Terry grew up in the Shenandoah Valley in Waynesboro, VA. Terry works with dairy cattle and has over 26 years of experience in the dairy nutrition field. Terry acquired his knowledge from hands-on experience working on farms and as a previous employee of a local feed company where he held the positions of Truck Driver, Mill Manager and VP of Sales. Terry’s personal commitment to his customers’ needs is demonstrated by his loyal customer base in the Northern Augusta and southern Rockingham County areas of Virginia.

Shawna grew up in Bath County where her family operates a commercial beef cattle and sheep operation in both Bath and Highland Counties. A portion of the farm has been in continuous operation by the Bratton family since the 1760’s. Agri-tourism has become a recent addition to their agricultural operations.

Shawna graduated from Virginia Tech University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science and a minor in Agricultural Economics. She participated on the livestock judging and the national agrimarketing teams and entered the animal health industry upon graduation.

In 1997, Shawna accepted a position in field sales with Augusta Cooperative. After three years in the field, she moved into various management positions in purchasing, advertising and website development with Augusta Cooperative. Last year, she moved back into the field as a Beef Specialist. Shawna also maintains certifications as a Nutrient Management Planner and Certified Crop Advisor. As a Beef Specialist, Shawna focuses on beef cattle nutrition, forage management, cattle reproduction and animal health needs with her customers.

In addition to her duties at Augusta Cooperative, Shawna is actively involved in the management of her family’s farm operation where she focuses on AI breeding, replacement heifer development, ration development, crop rotations and just about anything else associated with the farm.


Daniel May

Daniel is a native of Mill Run, PA where he was raised on a beef cattle and sheep farm. After graduating from school, Daniel took a full-time position managing a 250 cow Angus herd in Pennsylvania. He has over eight years of experience in animal health and reproduction, artificial insemination and embryo transfer. He has also served as a 4-H leader and livestock judging team coach. Daniel owns and operates May Valley Club Lambs. With his livestock experience, Daniel specializes in feed sales and animal nutrition in Augusta, Rockingham and Highland Counties.

John was raised on a dairy farm in Lynchburg, VA. He obtained his Associate in Business Management Degree from Central Virginia Community College and has served the agriculture industry for over 28 years. He has continued his education in the areas of Nutrient Management Planning from the State of Virginia, Dairy Nutrition from Penn State (Cargill), Agronomy from Virginia Tech and University of Maryland, and Sports Turf Management from Virginia Tech. He is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA). He works out of the Bedford location assisting with agronomy operations in southern Virginia as well as sports turf management at local high schools. He also provides nutritional assistance to dairy farms in the Bedford, Franklin, Campbell and Pittsylvania county areas.


Alisa Berry

Alisa grew up in Augusta County, VA. Born into agriculture, Alisa’s family owns a local dairy operation (Meadow Run Dairy) in New Hope, VA. She quickly developed a love for horses and starting riding and showing locally at the Southwest Virginia Hunter Jumper Association (SWVHJA) and is a B graduate of Glenmore Hunt Pony Club. After graduating from Fort Defiance High School, she attended Sweet Briar College, where she obtained a Business/Economics degree. Post-graduation, Alisa began her career at Sweet Briar College as a Riding Instructor.  After several years, Alisa began to pursue her horse showing interests on a regional and national scale.

In 2006, Alisa first came on board with the Augusta Cooperative Farm Bureau, Inc. as their Equine Specialist. After six years in that role, Alisa began to work full time for her family enterprise, Jason Berry Stables, a full-service show and training facility. In 2020, Alisa returned to work for Augusta Cooperative Farm Bureau, Inc. as their lead Equine Specialist. Alisa is currently responsible for all equine on-farm consultations, pasture management and nutritional programs.


Alex Botkin

Agronomy Field Representative – Augusta & Rockbridge Counties

Alex grew up in Fort Defiance, VA. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2019. While in school, he worked for the Virginia Tech Agronomy Farm. Following this he interned at the Shenandoah Valley Agriculture Research Center. In June 2019, he started at Augusta Cooperative Farm Bureau as a manager trainee and made his way to Agronomy Field Representative.

Currently, as an Agronomy Field Representative, Alex performs many tasks, including crop scouting, crop recommendations, hay and pasture management recommendations, customer service and much more.


Mikala Liptrap

Mikala grew up on a small family farm in Stuarts Draft, VA, where she participated in the Augusta County 4-H & FFA Market Animal Show and participated in livestock judging for 9 years. In 2022, Mikala graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences.

During her time at Virginia Tech, she worked at the Copenhaver Sheep Center, participated in the Hokie Harvest Sale, and interned as a Feed Sales Representative with CHS South Central in Napoleon, ND.

Mikala currently lives in Middlebrook, VA and enjoys spending her free time riding horses, hunting, and attending cattle sales.


Ryan Sensabaugh

Ryan grew up in Greenville, Virginia on his family’s sheep farm.

Throughout middle and high school, he was active in both 4-H and FFA where he competed in various contests including Stockman’s, Livestock Judging, Forestry Judging and Poultry Judging. He also participated in the Augusta County 4-H & FFA Market Animal Show. Ryan graduated from Virginia Tech in 2021 with a degree in Agribusiness Management.

While in college, he was an active member of the Virginia Tech Block and Bridle Club, a national organization focused on agriculture and service. During his membership he was active in assisting host many 4-H and FFA Block and Bridle events.

Ryan currently lives in Greenville, Virginia and is an active member in the community.
