Field Services

One of the hallmarks of Augusta Co-Op is the Field Services staff. Our Field Representatives provide the boots on the ground, in the field customer service to our customers in our primary service counties.

Field Representatives continually undergo new training to gain new skills and to maintain current certifications in pesticide application, animal nutrition, nutrient management planning, and crop advising.

  Field Representatives  
Hillary Morris
Equine Specialist


Hillary grew up in Botetourt County, VA.  Since early childhood, she has been active in the sheep and equine industries, showing both market lambs and Saddlebred horses.  She was very active in her high school 4-H and FFA chapters where she participated in equine judging, livestock judging, public speaking and hippology.  After high school, she studied biology at Emory and Henry College.  After college, she worked for Botetourt Veterinary Hospital where she assisted with surgeries and patient recovery and cared for both small and large animals.  After relocating to the Shenandoah Valley, Hillary worked for Flowing Spring Dairy and Eric Simmons Dairy as a calf caretaker.  In May of 2017, Hillary joined Augusta Cooperative as an equine specialist.  She continues to be active in the horse industry showing Saddlebred horses as well as participating in other riding disciplines.  Her family also raises Hampshire and Dorset sheep. 

Terry Price
Dairy Specialist                                   
Terry grew up in the Shenandoah Valley in Waynesboro, VA.  Terry works with Dairy Cattle and has over 26 years experience in the Dairy Nutrition field.  Terry acquired his knowledge from hands-on experience working on farms and as a previous employee of Valley Feed Co where he held the positions of Truck Driver, Mill Manager and VP of Sales.  Terry's personal commitment to his customers's needs is demonstrated by his strong and loyal customer base in the Northern Augusta/Southern Rockingham County areas of Virginia.

Shawna Bratton
Beef Specialist
Shawna grew up in the the Bath/Highland County area of Virginia on a multi-generation Beef Cattle and Sheep Farm.  She attended Virginia Tech where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science with a minor in Agricultural Economics.  She also participated on the Virginia Tech Livestock Judging and National Agri-Marketing Teams.  Shawna joined Augusta Co-Op in 1997 as a field representative.  After 3 years in the field, she moved into management where she has held numerous positions within the co-op involving farm supply purchasing, advertising, marketing, and website development.  In 2016, Shawna returned to the field with a specific emphasis on beef cattle.  Shawna also continues to be very actively involved in the management of her family's farming operation.   

Marc Clayton
Augusta County/Rockingham County - Agronomy




Marc grew up in southwest Iowa.  He attended Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in Animal Science with an emphasis on Animal Reproduction.  Though not raised on a farm, he quickly found himself working on local farms with 5,000 - 10,000 crop acres, 200 - 500 cow/calf pairs, and a commercial hog farm.  Marc was also very active in his local 4-H club, earning trips to both 4-H Congress and National 4-H Conference as well as both State of Iowa and National 4-H Record Book Awards.  Marc has also been involved in the professional horse business including over 7 years in Texas managing a Quarter Horse Breeding Operation.  Marc first came to your co-op as the Fairfield store manager in 2005.  In 2008, Marc returned to the horse industry, but he realized his place was here at Augusta Co-Op, and he came back on board in 2009 as a Field Representative.  Marc continues to broaden his knowledge base, expanding into the areas of seed, agronomy, and crop protectants.  Marc's coverage area includes western Augusta County and western Rockingham County (Dayton, Harrisonburg, Singer's Glen).

Andrew Saunders
West/East Blue Ridge - Agronomy
Andrew grew up in Nelson County, VA on his diversified family farming operation.  They raise fruit, horticulture items and livestock.  While in high school, he participated in 4-H and FFA and showed livestock.  Andrew attended Virginia Tech and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-Business with an emphasis in Animal Science and Crop/Soil Science.  While at Virginia Tech, Andrew worked at the VA Tech Beef Center and assisted as a Beef Cattle Herd Manager at nationally known beef seedstock producer, Knoll Crest Farms.  In May of 2017, Andrew joined Augusta Cooperative as an agronomy field representative.

Daniel May
Augusta County/Rockingham County/Highland County- Feed                  


Daniel is a native of Mill Run, PA where he was raised on a beef cattle and sheep farm.  Daniel also worked on other farms during school and learned how to milk cows.  After graduating from school, Daniel took a full-time position managing a 250 cow Angus herd in Pennsylvania.  He has over eight years experience in animal health and reproduction, artificial insemination, and embryo transfer.  He has also served as a 4-H leader and judging team coach.  He also owns and operates May Valley Club Lambs, raising and selling club lambs.  He also judges market lamb and goat shows.  With his livestock experience, Daniel specializes in livestock feed sales and animal nutrition in Augusta and Rockingham Counties.

Mercer   Garnett
Northern Albermarle/Orange Counties                        
Mercer grew up in Albemarle County, VA on a family beef and dairy farm.  He spent his summers and most other free time helping with farming activities.  Mercer has a degree from Virginia Tech in Agriculture Economics with an emphasis in small business management.  Upon graduation, he completed Southern State's management training program and worked in several retail locations affiliated with the company.  Before coming to Augusta Co-Op, he also managed a beef farm in Orange County, VA.  Mercer supports customer needs in feed & animal nutrition and agronomy.  Mercer's coverage area includes Northern Albemarle, Orange and Greene counties.

John Hicks
Bedford/Franklin/Campbell/Pittsylvania Counties           


John was raised on a dairy farm in Lynchburg, VA.  He obtained his Associate in Business Management Degree from Central Virginia Community College and has served the agriculture industry for over 28 years.  He has continued his education in the areas of Nutrient Management Planning from the State of Virginia, Dairy Nutrition from Penn State (Cargill), Agronomy from Virginia Tech and University of Maryland, and Sports Turf from Virginia Tech.  He is a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA).  He works out of the Bedford location assisting with agronomy operations in Southside Virginia as well as sports turf management of local high school ballfields.  He also provides nutritional assistance to dairy farms in the Bedford/Franklin/Pittsylvania county areas.

Sean Duff
Bedford/Franklin/Southside Virginia
Sean grew up in Highland County, VA where he was raised on a diversified family farm with livestock and maple sugar products.  Sean also worked on a large scale beef and crop operation, and he graduated from Ferrum College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Crop and Soil Sciences.  After graduation, Sean worked as the Franklin County Crops Extension Agent from 2012-2015.  In the fall of 2015, Sean joined Augusta Co-Op at the Bedford location.  He provides agronomy services to producers in Bedford, Franklin and surrounding counties in the Southside area of Virgina.
